Srinagar, Dec 10 (KNO): The Union Ministry of Planning has informed the Lok Sabha that it has included nine blocks from Jammu and Kashmir in its Aspirational Blocks Programme (ABP) list, targeting improved governance in underdeveloped areas.
The ABP was launched in January-2023 that covers a total of 513 blocks across India as an extension of the Aspirational Districts Programme. “The initiative focuses on enhancing outcomes in key sectors like health & nutrition, education, agriculture, basic infrastructure and social development through convergence of existing schemes and continuous monitoring.”
According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the nine J&K blocks have that been selected under the programme includes Marwah Kishtwar, Mankote Poonch, Khwas, Rajouri, Khari Ramban, Tulail Bandipora, Singhpora Baramulla, Manzgam Kulgam, Keran Kupwara, Ichegoza, Pulwama and Thakrakote Reasi.
The ministry further stated that the programme serves as a governance improvement template—ensuring targeted interventions in identified blocks of Jammu & Kashmir through collaborative implementation of government schemes—(KNO)
